Young beginners (5–7)

Play-based activities that introduce rhythm, finger numbers, and the musical alphabet. Short exercises, songs they recognize, and lots of encouragement to build a love of music from the start.

School-age students (8–17)

Structured piano curriculum focusing on note reading, technique, theory, ear training, and performance skills. Ideal for students preparing for school performances or Royal Conservatory of Music exams.

Adult learners

Flexible, goal-oriented lessons for adults at any level—whether you’re starting from scratch, returning after a break, or finally learning the songs you’ve always loved.

Why piano lessons are important for children

Piano lessons for children are not only about music, but also about overall development. During lessons, children train their attention, memory, perseverance, and ability to finish what they start. Reading music develops logical thinking and hand-eye coordination, and regular practice helps to develop discipline and a habit of systematic work. All of this has a direct impact on school performance: children who study music are more likely to grasp new material quickly, concentrate better, and cope more easily with difficult tasks.

The emotional aspect is no less important. The piano gives children a safe way to express their feelings through music, boosting their self-esteem and confidence: when children learn to play their favorite melody from beginning to end, they feel the real results of their efforts. Participating in small concerts and recitals teaches them not to be afraid of the stage, develops courage and communication skills. As a result, the piano becomes not just a hobby, but a powerful tool for personal growth that helps children feel more confident and harmonious in life.

Piano lesson FAQ

What ages do you teach for piano?

We teach piano to children starting around age 5, as well as teens and adults of any age. For very young beginners, we keep lessons playful, short, and focused on fundamentals.

Do I need a piano at home to start?

A full piano or weighted digital keyboard is ideal, but you can begin with a smaller keyboard while you explore if piano is a good long-term fit. We’re happy to recommend suitable instruments within your budget.

How often are lessons and how long is each one?

Most students take one private lesson per week, typically 30 or 45 minutes. Advanced or exam-track students may choose longer lessons for more detailed coaching.

Do you prepare students for RCM exams?

Yes. Many students follow the Royal Conservatory of Music syllabus. We cover technical requirements, repertoire, sight-reading, ear training, and musicianship skills needed for exams.

How much should students practice?

For young beginners, 10–15 minutes most days is a great start. As students progress, we gradually increase practice time. Your teacher will suggest a realistic plan based on age and goals.

What is your make-up lesson policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. When possible, we’ll offer a make-up time or online option. Specific policies may vary by teacher and will be reviewed at registration.
